Three Edwardian doors, all about the glass
Every one is solid utile, cut with mortice and tenon joints and made to your exact sizes. Where they part company is the glazing up top: leaded, etched or a diamond pattern, designed with you and made in the workshop. Pick the face that suits your front, and we will talk about the glass.

What goes into a Grand Edwardian.
Utile, a dense sipo mahogany that stays put and shrugs off the weather. Mortice and tenon joints. The cricket-bat lower panel, solid and stable, 44mm thick as standard, made to your exact sizes.
The top lights come ready for glass, so the leaded or etched panels drop straight in. It arrives unpainted and unfitted, on purpose: your joiner hangs it, your painter finishes it in whatever colour suits the house.
The glass is the part I love most.
I’ve worked with period front doors for three decades, and the Edwardian ones are where the glass really earns its keep. I design the leaded and etched panels myself, drawn around your door and your hall, then make them in the workshop, so no two ever come out the same.
Plenty of these houses sit in conservation areas, where the glass and the proportions are exactly what a planner looks at. I can help you get that part right too.

Edwardian front door, frame and 10 leaded lights
Chris is an amazing craftsman. He turned our horrible 70s door into a work of art. He was very patient at the design stage, took our crazy ideas on board and produced an Edwardian front door, frame and stained glass that’s a one off.
To show you the mark of the man, he even went out of his way working on the porch and lintel strip at no extra cost because it’s what the door needed.
