The Grand Georgian, lit three ways
One door, drawn to the Georgian proportions, with the same solid utile and mortice and tenon joints throughout. What changes is how much daylight you let into the hall. Keep it solid and private, open a single top light, or run three lights across the top for glass.

Solid Panels
Every panel solid. The quiet, private option for a front that faces the weather or the street.

A single glazed panel at the top. Daylight into the hall, the lower half kept solid.

Three glazed lights across the top. The most light, and the most room for leaded glass.
What goes into a Grand Georgian.
Utile, a dense sipo mahogany that stays put and shrugs off the weather. Mortice and tenon joints. Solid flat panels below that hold their shape season after season, 44mm thick as standard, made to your exact sizes.
It arrives unpainted and unfitted, on purpose. Your joiner hangs it, your painter finishes it in whatever colour suits you and your home.
I started making Georgian doors thirty years ago.
I’ve worked with period front doors for three decades and fitted Georgian and Regency doors from Bolton out to Ilkley, Lostock and plenty in between. The design for the Grand Georgian was drawn from surviving originals, so the proportions sit right on a house that’s been standing two hundred years.
